BIQ Health Solutions Implements Automated Medication Dispensers Across Lusíadas Saúde Group
BIQ Health Solutions is implementing an Automated Medication Dispenser project across the Lusíadas Saúde Group, reinforcing its commitment to technological solutions that improve safety, traceability and efficiency in medication management within hospital environments.
The project is currently underway, with the equipment already delivered to Hospital Lusíadas Alfragide, Hospital Lusíadas Beloura and Hospital Lusíadas Braga. In total, six units will be installed, with two dispensers in each of these three hospitals.
This implementation follows a pilot project carried out at Lusíadas Albufeira, where the first unit was installed, allowing the solution to be validated in a real clinical environment and preparing the way for its expansion to other units within the group.
SupplyPoint® Automated Medication Dispensers enable controlled medication storage and dispensing, with different access levels according to each user profile. The solution also provides a complete record of all activities performed, including movements by patient, user, time and item, through an intuitive information system designed to support operational management.
Key benefits of the solution include integration with medical prescriptions, compatibility with different dosage forms, real-time inventory control and automatic generation of replenishment lists.
SupplyPoint® technology also improves medication traceability by identifying who removed a specific medication, when it was removed, for which patient and in what quantity. In addition, the equipment includes an LED drawer identification system, making it easier to access the correct medication during dispensing.
Designed for continuous operation, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, the equipment is built to meet the requirements of critical environments, ensuring safe and uninterrupted performance.
