BIQ-HS Qualification and Innovation with European Union Support
BIQ – Health Solutions, Lda, a Portuguese company specialising in technological solutions for the healthcare sector, is implementing the project “BIQ-HS 2024-2026: Strategic Plan for Capacity Building, Innovation, Quality and Certification”, under the SME Qualification Incentive System (SICE Qualification), Call MPr-2024-4, co-financed by Lisboa 2030.
Objectives
To strengthen the company’s competitiveness and internationalisation capacity across six areas of qualification:
- Organisational innovation and management — modernisation of the company’s internal technological infrastructure;
- Digitalisation and digital transformation — new website, application redesign and cybersecurity audit;
- Brand creation and design — registration of new proprietary brands at national and international level;
- Development of products, services and processes — new AI solutions, including chatbots, and HomeTRAC for Hospital-at-Home care;
- Quality and certification — achievement of ISO 27001 and ISO 13485 certifications, MDR compliance (CE marking) and the FDA 510(k) regulatory framework;
- Sustainability — definition and implementation of an ESG governance model.
Expected Results
Upon completion, this project is expected to enable BIQ-HS to achieve the following by 2027:
- Turnover of approximately €4.38 million, representing 46% growth compared with 2023;
- Export intensity of approximately 54% of sales, with a stronger presence in the United Kingdom, Italy, France, Greece and the United States;
- ISO 27001 and ISO 13485 certification, as well as compliance with the European MDR and the FDA 510(k) regulatory framework;
- Creation of skilled jobs and expansion of the product portfolio with new artificial intelligence solutions.
