Integration with the existing electronic prescribing module.

  • Creation of 2D barcodes containing information about the medication, including name, dosage, batch, expiry date and supplier;
  • The 2D barcodes are applied to each primary unit dispensed by the pharmacy to the clinical departments.
  • Healthcare professional logs in to the handheld terminal;
  • Patient identification by scanning the barcode on the wristband;
  • Identification of the medical prescription.

Validation of medication administration on the handheld terminal. PharmaTRAC alerts the healthcare professional whenever:

  • The patient is not the correct one;
  • The medication does not match the medical prescription;
  • The medication has expired;
  • The dosage is incorrect;
  • The route of administration does not match the prescribed route;
  • The batch has been flagged for recall.

When prescribed medication has not been administered, the system requires a justification.
